Fife House Prices Have Risen by 7.18% Since Christmas.

 

Since Christmas, Fife first-time buyers and savvy Fife buy-to-let landlords have been more active than expected in the Fife property market.

 

Rents in the Fife area have soared in the last two years, with the average Fife rent increasing to £799 a month, an increase of 8.1%.

 

Because of these growing Fife rents, it has made homeownership more cost-effective for younger Fife buyers and more lucrative for Fife landlords.

 

On the back of this, house prices are rising in Fife.

 

But how can I say house prices are rising when the Land Registry and other indices from the banks state they are falling? (more…)

For a lot of people, the answer is no. Changing lettings law and tax rules have caused many landlords to drop out and sell up, particularly if rent is their main or only source of income.

The annual price change of a property in Scotland was 3.0%

The monthly price change of a property in Scotland was 0.7%

The index figure for Scotland (January 2015 = 100) was 137.0

 

 

Average house prices in Scotland increased by 3.0% in the 12 months to March 2023. This was up from 2.8% the 12 months to February 2023 and was slower than the average UK house price annual inflation of 4.1% in the 12 months to (more…)

Skipton launches deposit-free mortgage aimed at renters

A deposit-free mortgage specifically aimed at people currently renting has been launched by a UK building society. While a handful of other no-deposit deals are available, they all need the financial backing of family or friends. Skipton Building Society says while its deal requires 12 months of on-time rental payments and a good credit history, it does not need a guarantor. However, at 5.49% the interest rate is more expensive than the average five-year fix of 5%.
