EP 239: The Wealth Creation Show: The Cost of Doing Nothing

We spend a lot of time worrying about what could go wrong if we invest. But how often do we calculate what it could cost us if we don’t?

When we talk about investment, particularly property, we naturally concentrate on risk. Could property values fall? Could interest rates rise? Could costs increase? Could government policy change? What happens if the investment doesn’t perform?

But there’s another side to risk that receives much less attention: what happens if we do nothing? Inflation continues, markets move, property prices change, opportunities come and go and, most importantly, time continues to pass.

Perhaps we need to start calculating the risk of inaction alongside the risk of action.

Luckily, you don’t need to head back to school to understand this as Lettings Director, Richard Cook and one of the UK’s most successful property investors, Jim Parker are on hand to discuss.
